More Good News!

So, today I got another e-mail from my publisher telling me that conceptual editing has started. Yeah! Okay, for those that don't know what conceptual editing is, I'll explain. My book has already gone through the editing that checks for grammar and basic English stuff. Conceptual editing is when they make sure that flow, characters, plot and concept are at the best they can be. This is also the scariest part of the process for an author because this is where they are going to ask you to cut scenes or characters and when you have worked on a book for three years its kind of hard to hear this, but it has to be done. Now, my editor said that she wouldn't be in touch with me much until she was finished through the first run through, which won't be until the end of the month, but I have a feeling that she'll be e-mailing me to ask questions from time to time. In which case, I will have an idea on exactly where they are which will be nice. So I've done the math, and that means that the first part of my book might be out by September. If this happens and they are thinking early September, maybe I can convince them to release it on my birthday. That would be cool. Anyway, thought I'd give the update.
