So today is a busy day. I have a wedding to go to for a friend I grew up with! Love you Zoe! And then I have to do laundry, laundry and more laundry. As for everything else going on with my book and stuff, well my editor has agreed to some of my name changes but I still haven't heard anything about my title, so I'm not sure if that is staying as is, or if that is being changed too. Well, either way I'll have to hear from her sometime this next week anyway since I'm going to get my second look at changes. I've already come to the conclusion that I will need to change around somethings that I added, but as a whole I'm hoping that since this actually correlates with my spring break I will have plenty of time to relax and just allow my muses to speak.
As for everything else, well it seems that I have hit a dry spell in both my reading and my writing. I'm almost done with my third completed novel, but it just seems to be missing something. I figure that I'll just finish it and then go back and figure out what feels so off, my two other novels have not felt like this and it kind of concerns me. As for the reading, I just have hit a time where I can't sit there long enough to read as much as I would like. Also, I made the mistake of introducing the Hunger Games to my mother, who is now hooked, but she wants me to read it to her, so I spend much of my free time doing that recently. Anyway, when I hear from my editor, I'll update again.
Till Later.
This blog is being written to explore the books, my writings and just random questions or problems about life.

Nothing Much
Okay, so my editor still has my book at the moment, but I already know of a name change. I originally spelled the name of the land as Terisian, but I changed that to Teresian because of pronunciation and I thought it looked nicer. Anyway, there might be a title change too, but I know that at the end of this month (so the end of this week) the title has to be finalized, so I will know soon and will be able to tell everyone else. I also have to start thinking about how I would like the cover to look since I know the next step will be talking to an artist to figure out how the cover art/design will flow.
As for everything else, I took a small trip this weekend so I'm pretty behind in my reading so I'm still in the beginning of Black Veil but its really good so far. As for the Hunger Games movie, I saw it twice this weekend and it was amazing. Now, not going to lie, the first time I saw it, I was slightly disappointed because the books were so good and I just had this unattainable idea about what they could and could not put into a movie. However, once that was out of the way and I was able to go see it a second time with a different group of friends I realized how absolutely amazing this movie was. In all honesty, the adaption was pretty faithful compared to some adaptions I've seen. Anyway, I'll leave everyone else to make up their own opinions, but I thought it was amazing.
Till Next Time.

Wooo!
Okay, big sigh of relief. I handed in my edits to my editor on Thursday and I didn't realize how stressed I was about it until today. As far as I know I won't hear from her again for another two weeks unless something is wrong or she has a question. It was stressful trying to add to the story without changing any of my characters, but I think I pulled it off. So now I can relax until the beginning of April when I get it again, but luckily the school I work for has spring break around that time so I will have an entire week to work on it without the stress of work to complicate things.
I finished Inheritance and it was really good, but he definitely left it opened to continue writing in that universe. In fact, he left a lot of questions open and I thought some of the concerns at the end slightly over dramatized, but that could just be me. Right now, I'm about to start the latest installment of the Green Rider series. I love these books but I have a feeling that it will either end sadly or in a cliff hanger. If the second then I hope that there is a fifth installment because I hate those series where the last book is a cliff hanger where it is up to you whether it is a happy ending or a sad ending. Just give us an ending! Or at least a resolution.
As a side note, I'm going to the Hunger Games midnight premier and I'm totally psyched! My brother is planning on designing his beard like Seneca Crane's and if he can pull this off then I'll be really proud in a bizarre way. I for one am just hoping to get a mockingjay pin for the movie, but we'll see what happens.

Editing Week 2
Okay, so I'm officially halfway done my editing and it has to be in by Thursday. Yikes! Where did the time go. So needless to say I will be linked to my computer for a good portion of my time. It's odd how such simple changes have turned into a much harder task. It turns out that what I had originally planned on doing would have changed my main character too much and I just couldn't do that to her. So I finally decided to combine two elements that my editor wanted me to work on anyway and it seems to be working out well. However, since I'm only on chapter 7, we'll see if I still feel that way when I'm done. So far the person that has heard the book almost as many times as I've read it says that it sounds fine, but she has only heard up to chapter 4 and has yet to hear all the additions, so we'll see.
I have also received some updates from my publisher and if I counted correctly, which remains to be seen since obviously I'm more in the realms of English rather than mathematics, that perhaps my hopes of having the book out by September was too hopeful. I now place the release of the book at around October, but then again perhaps I'm wrong again. Basically, I've come to the conclusion that I'll wait to start really guessing as to the release after it has gone to marketing and I'm then receiving constant communications.
As for the book I'm reading, it's still Inheritance. I'm almost finished though, just a few more chapters. I will say that it is probably my second favorite of the series, but then again that follows my normal patters. I usually like the first and last of a series. Lord of the Rings, the Twilight Saga and many others, though surprisingly The Hunger Games Trilogy does not fall into this. My favorites out of that were the first and second. Don't get me wrong, I really liked the third one, but it was just so depressing. Anyway, now that I'm under a time crunch I will be going back to work.

Editing Week One
Okay, so for the last month I have been freaking out because of all the horror stories I've heard of conceptual editing. Some people who have had books published before or who knew someone who has, were telling me about how they forced them to cut characters or entire subplots and I was really starting to get nervous. I mean, this has been my baby for the last three, almost four years, so I was really wondering if I would be able to make it. Then, on Thursday I received the promised e-mail from my conceptual editor and ... miracle upon miracles, she loved it! She didn't want to change much of anything and the biggest thing she wanted me to work on was adding some conflict. Now at first I was a little taken a back by this, I mean after all there is a lot of conflict within the story, but then it hit me. Most of the major conflict takes place within the second half of the book and since they spit the book into two, the first half needs a little more, so I decided that I would go along with this. Needless to say, I am floating on air with relief at how glad I am that she did not want me to cut any character, because that was my biggest worry. My plot is character driven so it really would have changed a lot.
So now I have two weeks to polish it and make changes and then send it back to her. She will then look over it once more, determine if there is anything more that I need to work on and send it to me once again. I will again have another look at it and then off to the next stage. I will most likely be blogging quite often from this point on and keeping you updated on what I am doing and where I am at within the story. There are 14 chapters within the first book and I have already edited the first two, which were probably the easiest out of the whole thing.
As for what I am currently reading, that would be the last book within the Inheritance Cycle. I have to say I loved the first book, Eragon, but sort of got lost/bored with the other two. However, this one I am actually enjoying quite a lot. I'm a little less than halfway done now. If you have never read these books and you are into fantasy I would recommend them, however they are for a reader that enjoys having to think about their fantasy. So if you are looking for a mindless, non-thinking story, these are not the books for you.
